Pest Management Academy provides the following pest control training options to the pest control industry:
Option 1
Skills Program NQF Level 4
3-day practical training program presented at NQF level 4 – a higher level than the restricted NQF 2 above, covering all fields of registration. It is held at the Academy but can be conducted at a venue of your choice depending on the amount of students.

- Structural Pest Control – view dates and cost

- Structural Fumigation or Bag and Bulk Fumigation – view dates and cost
You are expected to complete examinations and workbooks and you must show competency in theoretical work and practical scenarios. This skills program is aimed at people who want to be qualified as a fully registered pest control operator and is suitable for people working on their own without supervision, in other words your average pest control operator.
You need to gain 6 months practical experience under the supervision of a Registered operator. The Bag & Bulk Fumigation course requires a minimum of 12 months practical experience. After completion, you can apply with the Department of Agriculture for P Registration. If you have already gained the required experience, you can apply for registration immediately after completing the skills program.

This skills program E Learning is aimed at people who want to be qualified as a fully registered pest control operator and is suitable for people working on their own without supervision, in other words your average pest control operator.
You can now study at home when it suits you and at your own pace. You do not have to go to a central course venue. Maximum of one year is given to complete the course.
How will this on line E- Learning platform work? The student will register for the course and receive a password to access the on line training course where the manual format training material is set out in training segments per subject theme. This manual is complimented with a whole host of training videos especially produced to show all the practical elements needed to come to grips with the subject material. For every training segment the learner will complete the required workbook and this will be submitted automatically on line as well. On completion the learner will complete a practical assessment either on line via a Skype platform or in person at our training academy.

Field Pest Biologist (NQF 5)

The Field Pest Biologist allows you to become a Master Pest Control Operator whose function it would be to set up a full pest control program for a facility. This entails a full assessment of the site to identify infestation, areas of access and vulnerability where pests might enter and nest in the facility. You will be able to work out and implement a treatment plan combining all elements of integrated pest management to firstly block entry into the facility, then remove food and water sources and only then implementing a treatment program using the least amount of pesticides, choosing the options that are least toxic with acceptable LD50 values. You will be trained to monitor the success of the pest control plan coupled with infestation flow charts and advise the customer on strategies to minimise ongoing infestation.
Aerial Application Course (NQF 4)

The Aerial Application Course has been developed for pilots to become registered pest control operators with the Department of Agriculture to enable them to meet the registration criteria to have the Agricultural Rating added to their Pilot’s license.
